Technology Assurance Analyst

  • Business Management

Do you want to tackle the biggest questions in finance with near infinite compute power at your fingertips?

G-Research is a leading quantitative research and technology firm, with offices in London and Dallas.

We are proud to employ some of the best people in their field and to nurture their talent in a dynamic, flexible and highly stimulating culture where world-beating ideas are cultivated and rewarded.

This is a role based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

We are seeking a Technology Assurance Analyst  with a strong commercial mindset who can bring a dynamic and innovative approach to the Business Information and Controls Assurance team.

You will be passionate about providing pragmatic advice to drive tangible business improvements, rather than simply ticking assurance boxes.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading reviews over complex technology applications, infrastructure and platforms
  • Interacting closely with our software engineers to develop your technical understanding of our environment, bringing a commercial risk lens to identify areas for improvement
  • Completing risk assessments and in-depth assurance reviews over key engineering processes, including CI/CD, Resilience and Platform Availability
  • Identifying innovative testing techniques to support data driven insights
  • Embedding the use of data throughout our review lifecycle, including risk assessment and planning, fieldwork, reporting and ongoing monitoring
  • Identifying and summarising key observations and improvements for consideration by management
  • Writing reports that clearly articulate issues and key recommendations for consideration by the Board and EMT

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong academic credentials, including a minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent, with Computer Science (or similar) degrees preferred)
  • Technical understanding of software development principles such as Agile and DevOps
  • Experience working within a Line 2 or 3 role in Financial Services or similar in a Consulting capacity
  • Experience working in an environment where having a resilient but adaptable platform is critical
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and being able to form conclusions that are right for the maturity and risk appetite of our business
  • Motivation to build and maintain an understanding of a complex and rapidly changing IT environment
  • Ability to organise data and exercise effective problem-solving skills
  • An ability to think out-of-the-box and identify suitable approaches without being constrained by standard ways of thinking or working
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI or Python would be advantageous

Why should you apply?

  • Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus
  • Lunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar
  • 30 days’ annual leave
  • 9% company pension contributions
  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance
  • Comprehensive healthcare and life assurance
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Monthly company events
