The role

G-Research is going through an exciting period of growth and transforming the way we run and build platforms. As part of our transformation, we are looking for a highly skilled engineer to join our expanding Core Compute Platform Engineering team.

As a Kubernetes Engineer, you will help grow the platform, owning its design and build, as well as being responsible for monitoring performance. You will help the team deliver a fully featured, secure platform and enable the business to deploy applications, which are critical to our success.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing applications to build and extend our Kubernetes compute platform

  • Working closely with various other platform and development teams to help define standards, best practices and aid migration and on-boarding of applications onto the platform

  • On-call responsibilities for the most critical parts of our Kubernetes infrastructure

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a highly skilled engineer with technical experience of building high performance, scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced Kubernetes

  • CI/CD principles

  • Linux internals

  • A Linux Engineering/DevOps/Networking/SRE background

  • A passion for open-source development

  • Intermediate level development skills in a common language e.g. Python, Go, JavaScript
