This is a role based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The role

Our Network Engineers work on key network automation, providing tier 3 support, including hybrid cloud implementations, data centre deployments and perimeter networks.

G-Research fosters a DevOps culture with a particular focus on automation; an understanding of the importance of building supportable solutions that reduce operational cost is therefore essential for this role. We want engineers that can absorb new technologies, and have the ability to explain complex design structures to a range of users with varying technical knowledge.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • The network engineering team provides escalated Tier 3 support during day to day operations and outages
  • The network engineering team is responsible for the production and maintenance of documentation of the network for both past and future projects
  • Responsible for medium to large network projects in a self-managed manner. Will report regular process to leadership and stakeholders
  • Implementing and maintaining scalable, secure network systems using a variety of technologies and products
  • Leading efforts to instil SDLC best practices in the team to improve the developer experience of working with existing systems, ensuring that security is seamlessly integrated into the development process without compromising efficiency or productivity

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have following skills and experience:

  • Experience designing and building highly scalable data center networks
  • Expert level experience configuring and troubleshooting multi-vendor network devices.
  • Experience with advanced WAN network designs utilizing the Cisco IOS-XR platform; such as segment routing and multitenancy deployments
  • Professional level knowledge of network routing and switching technologies, such as BGP, OSPF, EVPN and VXLAN
  • Working experience with utilizing and troubleshooting python automation to deploy and manage network devices
  • Python automation development skill preferred
