This role is based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The role

The Post-Trade Analysis group works closely with senior stakeholders across the firm - from Research to Portfolio Management - to deliver value through the identification and analysis of performance and inefficiencies in portfolio behaviours and trading patterns.

As a Quant Analyst within the group, you will partner with our embedded engineering team to develop tooling methods that allow for more advanced analysis. You will also work closely with the engineers to productionise ad-hoc analysis and research into published reports for ongoing monitoring and dissemination across the firm.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Working with stakeholders to deliver thorough and accurate research on focus areas across all assets
  • Initiating and leading rigorous analysis into portfolio behaviours and deployed research to draw statistically significant conclusions about efficiency
  • Performing analysis at pace during times of crisis to help inform portfolio management decisions
  • Researching and implementing new methodologies to improve the capability of the group on an ongoing basis
  • Engaging in an environment of open debate to critically assess the team's research and analysis
  • Thinking commercially – little is out of scope

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a quantitative or data analysis role with an excellent performance track record over a number of years
  • Experience dealing with very large datasets where aggregation is key
  • Good programming skills, preferably in Python
  • A relentless focus on continuous learning and making an impact
  • The ability to question the status quo and drive improvement and changes
  • Precision, rigour and an excellent eye for detail
  • Strong prioritisation skills, distinguishing between urgent, important and essential tasks, with a commercial mindset focused on delivering value
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to summarise conclusions to a variety of stakeholders from varying backgrounds and seniority – across teams including Research, Risk, Portfolio Management - is essential.
  • The ability to summarise complex problems with efficient visualisations
  • A demonstrable interest in financial markets

Online Application

Stage One: Online Quant Quiz

You will be asked to complete one of two quant quizzes; either a general quantitative aptitude assessment, or an ML specific one, depending on your background.

Stage Two: Technical Interviews

Typically, you will sit four interviews, one of which will focus on in-depth technical questions in mathematics. Each interview will last one hour.

If your profile is better suited to ML, you’ll complete two one-hour interviews, which will focus on your ML knowledge, but do expect to answer questions on mathematics, programming and stats that are relevant to the ML space as well!

Stage Three: Leadership Interviews

Following the successful completion of the technical interviews, you will meet some of our leaders.
